Chimney Rock Alpine Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap District 2012
Chimney Rock Alpine Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap District 2012
Alpine is the most Bordeaux-esque of our Cabernets. It’s consistently the most distinct Cabernet year after year.
Description
The highest vineyard on the Chimney Rock estate, Alpine is also the most challenging area to cultivate with its steep, terraced rows. These demanding growing conditions and the volcanic, well-drained soils only allow a miniscule amount of fruit per vine, resulting in small concentrated berries.
This special vineyard invariably provides rich, luxurious wines that also possess subtle but clear aromatic hints of dried herbs, and evoke the great wines of the Old World.
"Alpine is the most herbaceous and Bordeaux-esque of our Cabernets. It’s consistently the most distinct Cabernet year after year. Alpine Vineyard attracts the most fanatic cabernet enthusiasts."
