Description
At first glance, the vineyard block where our Clone 4 Cabernet is planted, looks quite ordinary. Walk towards these vines and look closer, and you will note that the Cabernet clusters that grow here are loose, small, and scraggly. The size of the berries is tiny—you might think them to be blueberries they are so small. The vines seem to struggle and the canopy is not full and dense. The explanation is hidden just a few feet below, where a very shallow hardpan in the soil causes these vines to struggle and behave much like grapevines on a steep hillside. AROMA:This wine is very expressive with aromas of blackberry, black cherry and cassis highlighted with notes of cocoa and vanilla.
