2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap District
The soundtrack of harvest is extremely important to our winemaking team. We enjoy music and we are profoundly aware that every song played in the cellar needs to inspire our wines. If we had to designate a song that perfectly captured the spirit of the 2017 harvest – it would undoubtedly be James Taylor’s Fire and Rain with lyrics that we lived, “I’ve seen fire and I’ve seen rain.” The 2017 vintage brought us one of the rainiest winters in the last few decades. In addition, on October 8 of that year Napa and Sonoma Valley experienced some of the most devastating wild fires. At Chimney Rock, we thrive under adversity. Although the vintage presented many extreme challenges, like a phoenix rising out of the ashes, the first of our 2017 wines shines bright. Enjoy this bright beauty.
