2016 Cabernet Franc
This single vineyard Cabernet Franc flaunts robust aromoas and bold flavors, earing the right to stand on its own.
Our winemaking team has reverence for the Cabernet Franc grape for many reasons. It is the genetic red parent (along with Sauvignon Blanc) of the beloved Cabernet Sauvignon grape. We could simply stop there in asserting its importance, but we won’t. As a blender, Cabernet Franc can lift, enrich or deepen the soul of a wine. As a soloist, it holds court as deeply aromatic, complex and graceful.
The fruit hails from our vineyard that’s nestled against the eastern hills on the northern side of the property. Here it ripens to a perfect tone and plays key roles in several of our wines from our Rose’ to our proprietary blend Elevage. As our Palisades Society offering, we give you a close-up on this exquisite variety, and share the heights that it can reach in Stags Leap District.
Aroma: This wine is abundant in aromas of cherry cola, clove, with hints of floral and vanilla
Flavor: On the palate this wine is medium bodied with a silky mouthfeel and nice lift and fresh acidity in the finish.
