Our South Hill Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyard rests on one of the most picturesque spots on the entire Chimney Rock estate. If you look to the north of this hill, the majestic Palisades ominously tower above you. If you turn to the south, our beloved Tomahawk vineyard is just a few steps away. It is a site worthy of contemplation not only for its beauty, but also for admiring the diversity in the terrain of our vineyards.In 2018, the Cabernet produced from this vineyard is as equally stunning as its site. Although this vineyard was planted in 1995, this is only the seventh vintage of its own bottling. South Hill is a wine of powerful concentration and depth, brooding and dramatic in nature. It is Cabernet Sauvignon at a virtuoso level. Give a standing ovation for our young star.
COLOR: Inky purple red
AROMA: This wine is aromatically alluring with aromas of black currant, violet, with hints of black tea and forest floor.
FLAVOR: On the palate the tannins of this wine are firm and well structured, but balanced by a rich mid-palate with a smooth and round finish.
